This is a Vixen SX2 EQ mount in pristine, like new condition.  This unit is only 5 years old, and there isn't a mark anywhere on it.  We have tested it, and of course it works perfectly with the included Starbook One controller.

This mount is from the estate of Thomas Shea, user name "teashea" on Cloudy Nights.  Mr. Shea was known there for his extensive collection of more than a dozen Taks, all on Vixen mounts.  We've received ten each of his scopes and mounts, all in equally brand new, perfect, pristine condition:

Here's his photo of his telescope room, showing most of them:

He explained his lack of use of all of his scopes there:

"I am much more a telescope collector than a telescope user. As with all my Takahashi telescopes, this system has been used for less than two hours - to test it when I first purchased it. Since then it has been sitting in my dedicated telescope room, with HEPA air filtration."

Everything we've seen and know about his scopes and mounts proves this to be absolutely true.  This one is no different from a brand new mount.  This is a nice savings off of the new one, so get it while it's still here!

Included Items:

  • Vixen SX2 EQ mount with Starbook One controller (a $1600 value) on a Vixen SXG-HAL130 tripod (a $225 value)
  • Counterweights:  1 x 8 lbs. 2 ozs.
  • Original manual for SX2 mount head and Starbook One
  • Original warranty sheet for SX2 mount head

This is $1825 worth of gear for just $1200!

This mount is on display on our showroom floor.  The mount/tripod will ship in a padded tripod bag; we have obtained suitable shipping boxes for this, and can ship it to you for a $99 shipping charge
