DESCRIPTION
Our original no-nonsense Alt-Az telescope mounting solution. Designed for uncomplicated enjoyment of the night sky, the DSV-1 mount provides grab and go, point and look operation. Adjustable brakes on each axis allow adjusting the mount motions to the desired level of firmness. Recommended for refractors up to 102mm f/7, SCTs up to 8" and Maks up to 6", the DSV-1 is available in single dovetail clamp or double dovetail clamp. Further enhance the capability of the DSV-1 by adding the QBS balancing system (see accessories below).
HIGH QUALITY FEATURES
Body: made of precision-fitting parts, CNC-machined from solid 6061-T6 Aircraft Aluminum.
Axes: the DSV-1 axes are supported by widely spaced radial and thrust bearings, minimizing deflection and maintaining precise, smooth movements under load.
Shafts: large diameter, precision turned aluminum shafts.
Bearings: the DSV-1 axes are supported by 2 precision, oversized ball bearings, plus one large needle thrust bearing in the Az axis.
Dovetail clamp (saddle): the DSV-1 comes standard with one or non-marring Vixen-style dovetail clamps, depending on configuration.
Knobs: the DSV-1 uses large custom CNC-machined Aluminum knobs, knurled for easy grip even when wearing gloves.
Fasteners: The DSV-1 is assembled using Stainless Steel hardware throughout for corrosion resistance and lasting good appearance.
Panning handle: included in price for both single or double dovetail clamp configurations.

Quick Balancing System (QBS):
Allows to quickly restore balance of the altitude axis when switching between small and large eyepieces, enabling the use of heavy accessories without having to excessively tighten the altitude axis. See the QBS page for more details.
